3 papers from Nature Neuroscience review current methods for recording from multiple neurons and analyzing the results.

I very briefly skimmed the papers. The first two papers, Large-scale recording of neuronal ensembles and Using multi-neuron population recordings for neural prosthetics are general reviews basically pointing out, “hey, y’know, you can record from multiple neurons now”. They probably contain nothing earthshattering for avid NeuroDudes, who’ve been following this stuff anyway.

The third paper, Multiple neural spike train data analysis: state-of-the-art and future challenges, is a review of some mathematical analysis techniques. Once again, it’s probably mostly stuff you’ve heard of, but I find that reading this sort of thing helps me organize my head, even when I know the individual techniques that are being discussed; so I’d suggest checking that one out.
