http://www.citeulike.org is a free service that lets you bookmark papers online as you browse them, categorize them with keywords, share your lists with others, and export lists of citations into other formats such as BibTeX.

Seems pretty cool to me. Ultimately, though, I think wikis are the way to go for collaborative citation lists: wikis can do community-moderated reorganization of existing content, for mixing
citations with analysis and descriptive introductions to a topic, and
for hyperlinking between topical nodes. I guess someone should extend a wiki with CiteULike-like functionality.
