EEG for your Nintendo Wii

Emotiv is a company trying to do a neuro (EEG) interface to game platforms.

Seems ambitious. Do EEG interfaces have a fast enough information transfer rate (bits/sec) for gaming? Maybe it’s not necessary if the game is just detecting your “mood” in conjunction with a standard keypad controller but seems to me you’d want to try and boost bit rates (as several EEG groups, like this one at Fraunhofer, are doing) as much as possible.

Anyone used this device?

    For the PC there are already several biofeedback devices available. Even ones cheap enough for “normal” people like me to afford. Nice to see some folks moving things onto other platforms.

    from what I understand, Emotiv is useful for casting spells, but not really useful in quick combat ;) i would on the other hand like to patch a neuron using this system. how would the most basic EEG feedback system work anyway? would you be looking at the momenttomoment modulation of particular frequency bands, or learning to detect the evolution of some complicated pattern?
